Catherine “Cathy” Pearman, MPAS, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant (PA) certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 1999.  Based on experience, educational endeavors and outreach, Mrs. Pearman is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Mrs. Pearman is a “local” from Virginia Beach.  She received her Bachelor of Science from Ferrum College and attended the Wake Forest School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program where she obtained her PA Certificate.  She earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.

Mrs. Pearman is a provider dedicated to practicing evidence-based medicine while fully involving the patient in all decision-making.  She believes that engaged listening and providing appropriate education are the keys to a successful patient-provider relationship. Her diverse experience and broad knowledge encourage critical thinking.

Mrs. Pearman is also an active educator.  She has been a member of the Eastern Virginia Medical School Physician Assistant Program faculty since 2006 and is currently an Associate Professor.  She thoroughly enjoys educating medical professionals of all types and being a part of active classroom and clinic learning. She also strives to continually educate herself on medical advances and patient care options.

Mrs. Pearman finds true joy in spending time with her family especially enjoying the many wonderful fine arts opportunities of this region.   Her daughters keep her busy with activities that typically involve music, dancing, water, sun and fun.
