Detra Saffold, COPM, Earns Prestigious, Nationally Recognized Credential

The Association of Otolaryngology Administrators (AOA) is proud to announce that Detra Saffold of Chesapeake Bay ENT in Belle Haven, Virginia has been awarded the prestigious Certification in Otolaryngology Practice Management (COPM).

In completing the requirements for this achievement, Saffold has demonstrated mastery of core competencies specific to Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery (physician practice which specializes in diseases of the ear, nose and throat).

Saffold is one of 19 candidates nationwide who successfully completed the COPM examination, which was administered during the 23rd Annual Educational Conference of the AOA in Los Angeles , California in September, 2005.

To qualify for the certification examination, candidates must demonstrate successful experience in otolaryngology practice management, management responsibility, formal and continuing education, membership in professional organizations, and professional contributions to the field. AOA members who achieve COPM certification are required to continuously pursue and maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in the field.

Certification is considered a milestone in an individual’s professional development, and proof of their commitment to patient-focused administration of the physician office.
